Rocky said that all the players that ended the season will be good to go on Saturday. There were some concerns about Ryan Dunn and maybe Malik Smith but SDSU should be relatively healthy.

Some LV bowl notes:

UH hired Major Applewhite
ESPN will be using its A broadcast team with Brent Musbuger and Jesse Palmer.
SDSU will wear all black. Houston going with white/red.

Both teams just got done with warmups and now pregame entertainment is about to begin with the two bands.

That was Brent Musburger's call during the game. This was such a huge game on so many levels. With all the attention that DJ is getting for breaking the record, the record was broken at this Big bowl victory over Houston. So the team is getting the recognition in prime time for everyone to see, as well as DJs unbelievable accomplishment. What great exposure this is! So where do we go from here? Recruiting has to get a huge boost from this.

The December 27th game might not happen.

Basically, the Minnesota players are currently on strike, because the school has suspended ten players, and the rest of the team decided that those players were denied any due process.
Among the ten players suspended are a starting safety and three corner backs that have seen substantial playing time. One of the corner backs is also their leading kick and punt returners.

And the best in the SD class in my opinion is going Pac12. SDSU was the first to offer.

Alemany OL Ladji Bagayoko is here at the game and on an official visit.

Air Force transfer and SDSU commit DE Connor Mitchell is also here at the game and visiting.

Both are mid-year guys.

Yasir Durant, who is expected to enroll in the spring after being a late qualifier this past summer (the last scholarship was given to Quest Truxton), is taken an official to Mizzou this weekend. I've also been told the MU coaching staff will have an in home visit with him toda in Philly.

Let's see how the SDSU staff responds. Some are already out on the road as Chance Bell was visited by Jeff Horton and Hunkie Cooper last night.

Not to pile on with more Bowl posts, but hopefully everyone is supporting the Aztecs in their bowl bid to some degree. The more you support the program when it comes to bowl games the more likely we are to: a) have funds to support football down the road, and b) show various bowl committees we can support the team. Therefore, I'd encourage those who still need to buy their tickets go thru SDSU (even though it's more expensive) or to buy a ticket for a band member, etc. if you can't make it. You'd be surprised how far a $82 donation can go! For those of us who ARE going, they are putting together a terrific tailgate starting at 9:00 AM which will feature a full breakfast buffet along with a fully hosted bar all for $40 each. A great way to gather with fellow Aztec fans! Stuff yourself on eggs, bacon, etc. & rinse it down with Bloody Mary's & Mimosa's if that's your thing.

Was curious how you guys feel about our commits so far. Receivers appear to be 6'0 ish.
Speed. The OL appears to be looking good. DL? Do you see any difference makers in this group so far? Is there any speed in this group. I know we look for "football players" but does anyone in this group so far look like game changers, especially at the skill positions?

2017 Recruiting News: Jojo Falo OL/DL (Madison HS) has received an offer from Fresno St.

Is he on our radar? We really struggle recruiting Madison, but I think we need to. We've done well with local OL recruits, I hope we offer him.

To say that he has under achieved would be the under statement of the year. Question is: is he hurt or have a conditioning issue? 7 mins into the game yesterday he was lumbering and motioned to the staff to take him out. Ended up playing only 20 mins.

Loved how SDSU was feeding him inside to start the game when he was in a mismatch but as soon as ASU switched up with bigger defenders, his offensive game disappeared.

I'll stay away from NBA first round comments. Just baffled about lack of production from the player we thought would lead SDSU this year. Fact is without Pope, SDSU is EASY to defend. SDSU has no post presence. Izundu is inept offensively. Cheatham was either blocked or couldn't finish easy opportunities in the paint yesterday. All teams will leave Dakari undefended for outside shots and he has missed WIDE OPEN 3's. Kell and Hemsely are LEGIT but without a Center and Forwards.............team isn't going anywhere.

Calling Malik Pope. Mr. Pope?????????

The gals won today and played well. Granted it was against Santa Barbara, but .........................

I think the award season is crap. Donnell should have won that award going away. I hope that he gains 300 yards in the Vegas Bowl when everybody is finally watching and show them how wrong they have been in not voting for him
I know as well as most of you he is the Heisman winner as well as the Doak Walker winner. That's it for me with the phony awards shows.
