Silent prospect???

Hey Ruben,

I saw this Twitter convo b/t one of our commits, John Carroll, and a WR from his (and my) area- Connor Van Ginkel. Did he CVG visit? Maybe a walk-on?

Washington--Back from SDSU

Washington also joked that when the visitors met with their visit hosts
(players on the team), he could tell they were a little tired. He found
out later that most of them just got finished with a workout with Hall.

"I asked Na'Im about it and he said it's all good and that he was fine.
You just have to mentally tough. Once you get through those workouts a
couple times it's not too bad. Plus, it's for the better."

I like it.
I like it.

What is your wish list for signing day?

What is your wish list for signing day? For many first of all its obviously no flips. After that I feel our most important need right now and is to get junior college players to replace the loss of Cody N. Josh. That would be Austen Wyat Thayer and Thaddeus Lagrone. We really need an impact wide receiver, we have some good players coming an but I'd like to see one with exceptional speed. Obviously I'd love to see the two top prospects we still have a shot at Bryce English and Lake. I don't understand why we want to bring in any more running backs. People forget that we also have P.J. Walker as well as the Texas duo, Penney and Marcus Stamps. But if they wanna give some walk-on an opportunity to crack the top two why not. Obviously a lot of our offensive lineman coming out of high school art projects of sort. However, that doesn't bother me at all the NFL is full of walk-on offensive lineman, Nebraska a used to produce two or three every year. We have a really good strength and conditioning programs and Mike Schmidt has turned into a first class coach. Some of these guys are going to have to trim down which will be hard given this workouts they have and then bowl back up a bit.
The other thing that obviously is a big time pass rusher in the freshman class perhaps that's Choate. That being said I'm sure there are a lot of guys coming in who they had been keeping silent about. And very interested to see about them. What's your wish list?

This weekend.

So I basically reached out to every visitor this weekend from 11 AM on and literally all of them can't talk until tomorrow (2 or 3 have yet to respond). Some were just getting off their flights, others hanging out with families, one was at the movies when I contacted him, and a few had work or homework to deal with. Overall though, they all seemed pretty tired out from this weekend, so that could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. Here's the list, separated by offense/defense depending on where SDSU is recruiting them as.

Commits are in bold.

QB Ryan Agnew came in at 6-foot, 180-pounds.
RB Jatory Sparks-Brown was 5-11, 210.
RB Juwan Washington was 5-7, 175. Tiny, but you've all watched his film.
OL Nick Gerhard, who committed on Saturday, checked in at 6-5, 285.
OL Daishawn Dixon was 6-5, 335.
OL William Tui is 6-5, 350 - built like a fridge, not like a pear.
TE Hasani Smith was a large 6-5, 275.
WR Wayne Jackson was 6-3, 205. Can see him playing WR, H-back, safety or even linebacker down the line. Demarco Sampson type.
WR Jerry Chaney was 6-0, 185. Liking him more and more as a safety.
WR Jack Bailey[/B] was a solid 6-2, 190.

DL Bryce English was 5-11, 330.
LB Reggie Murphy was huge - 6-5, 245. Could end up at DL. We'll se.
LB Kyava Tezino was 6-foot, 225. Washington St. commit.
DB Mike Bell was a legit 6-2, 185.
ATH Jeremy Kelly was 6-1, 185. Pretty certain he's going to Colorado though.
CB Dayan Lake came in at 5-11, 190. Recent BYU decommit.
DB Dwayne Parchment is a bulky 5-11, 185.
DB Jeff Clay is 6-foot, 190. Still has a lot of room to grow.

Good group huh?

There were also two secret offensive line visitors. Both, to my knowledge, are completely under the radar. One's a 6-4, 275 OT/OG that reminds me of Japheth Gordon. The other's a 6-5, 280-pound lean pure tackle with good feet. He reminds me of San Marcos OL Kevin Estes (who, in my opinion, is a bit overrated despite the offers he received). Will share the names as soon as I can.
