Now that Wyoming lost.... If SDSU and Boise win out.. and they remain a higher rank...is the conf championship in Idaho? Or is the ranking secondary to conf record?

He's having a tremendous year but I'm curious as to why he hasn't been able break a long TD run lately.
Penny has been able to rip off a couple of long TD runs as has Washington. DJ has been able break some 25-40 yd runs the last few games but hasn't been able break one for 6. Still showing quicks though.

Boise St is 23rd. As it stands, we'd play in Boise St for the conference championship. I think this is SDSU's best scenario to get the Cotton Bowl bid. Beating a Top25 team in their house will jump the Aztecs over W. Michigan.

Former SDSU signee, WR Dionte Sykes, has been attending Mesa Community College in Arizona. He was at the San Jose State game on Friday and I confirmed today that he is committed and will join the team next spring as a midyear transfer. He will have two years of eligibility to play two years of football. I know 2x2 situations aren't always a great deal, but SDSU will take any talent it can get at the WR position at this rate.

Billy Vaughn Jr., Derek Babiash and Fred Melifonwu are suspended "indefinitely"according to Rocky Long. All three were suspended for the first six games last season.

Pretty cool to see 2 Aztecs from Texas play eachother in the playoffs.

With Sergio Phillips and JonDarius Gardner graduating after next year, there's really not that much depth at nose tackle moving forward. Noble Hall is in a spot where he will be featured at nose for the next two seasons but there's nobody else in my mind really. Jordan Watson could have been an impact guy but he's gone. The only other option for the future at nose tackle I can see is maybe Forrest Hanlon, who in one or two more years will have to size to match his physicalness as a very stout lineman.

So there's a good chance SDSU goes for a JuCo nose tackle midyear next year but as for right now it looks like they're keying in on Vista Murrieta DL Anthony Mermea.

Coach Gonzales has seen him a handful of times this year and when you watch his film you can see why.

He's a prototypical fit for the job. Versatile, quick off the snap, explosive, strong hands and does well reading the backfield. Mermea's currently being recruited as a midtier MWC guy as of now.

Do the Aztecs or Noa, the LB from Helix, even have any interest in each other as he still hasn't committed and i havent seen much info about his interest in colleges. It just make sense as he is a very active and aggressive linebacker and SDSU plays to his strengths... Just curious.

Fresno state may become a force to be reckoned with as they pick Tedford to be their new head coach starting next season!
