With Pumphrey graduating this year, Stamps next year and Penny looking like a potential NFL early entrant if he has a big season, SDSU is looking to add at least one more running back in this class.

Chance Bell is on board and with Chris Brooks still uncommitted, he's likely the top candidate. If that doesn't work out, or if SDSU decides they want to add Brooks and another RB, Dorsey running back Antwone Williams is available. From what I understand he's getting a hard look because of his ability and because of his flexibility: he can play rb, wr or cb. Check out his senior film below:

College Basketball

We are 8 days away from the opening of SDSU's first exhibition game! I know football is prime time and center stage right now but some mention or reporting going into the start of our season would be appreciated by this SDSU fan. As I have said before, I am a long time season ticket holder for both sports and would love some basketball attention at this time. Thanks in advance to anyone for their insights regarding this season's team and players!!!

Quick notes:

Rashaad Penny twisted his ankle on his big kick return vs. Utah State but returned later in the game. Penny will be limited in practice tomorrow but he should be fine by Saturday. Team trainers believe he'll be good to go even though his MRI results aren't back in.

Kalan Montgomery has ankle and knee tweaks but Rocky said it's not too serious. The brace he was wearing was not to signal that it was a big time injury, just that the trainers were trying to see if he could get back in the game while wearing it. That tells me that's its no big deal and that barring different MRI results, he'll be fine by Saturday.

Sergio Phillips has been playing with a club on his hand during the past few weeks but Long said that he's doing fine with it and no further damage has occurred.

Long said that Derek Babiash, Billy Vaughn Jr and Fred Melifonwu are still suspended as of now. HE also clarified that all three violated the same team rule.

Utah State game thread

For whatever reason I was having major issues logging onto the site (hope that wasn't the case for any of you guys) but I'm in now.

SDSU leads 17-7 in drenching rain and Pumphrey has been rolling all night. Chapman delivered one of his best passes of the season on a 10 yard touchdown pass to Quest Truxton where he curled himself out of the pocket and found him while running to his left.

"Soaking wet" Pump has 151 yards on 22 carries so far

Junior-college recruiting needs

Ruben has written about Rocky's formula as far as recruiting junior college players. He likes to have so many upperclassman upperclassman at each position. Going into next year we only have one senior and two juniors one coming back from knee surgery, on the offensive line
It does look like Yasir Durant will be coming in, he will be a true sophomore.
They have offered Ben Knox 6'6 300 a tackle, and are looking at several guards, two of which have also played center. Of course they will not bring in some guy they don't think will be able to play regardless of position need.
It would not surprise me if they did bring in a junior-college guard/ center. I don't know of any junior-college players they are recruiting seriously for cornerback other than Nixon at Arizona Western. I would imagine they've got a few others in mind and I know they have some connection with a couple, but that's it so far.

With Sykes on board I don't think they'll recruit another J. C.wide receiver, but they are recruiting heavily three junior-college tight ends. There are a few other guys out there that they are recruiting just because they have tremendous talent even though we have people at that position.
