Women’s Soccer Welcomes Yasmin Ahooja to Program
SDSU head coach Mike Friesen announced the addition of Yasmin Ahooja.

SAN DIEGO - San Diego State has added to its program Yasmin Ahooja, who recently signed her National Letter of Intent with the Aztecs, women’s soccer head coach
Mike Friesenannounced today. The midfielder joins the four-time defending Mountain West regular-season champions out of nearby Carlsbad High School.
Ahooja will head south to Montezuma Mesa after a successful career at Carlsbad where she helped the Lancers to three Avocado West League titles (2013, 2014, 2015) and four San Diego CIF Division I playoff appearances, including a quarterfinal berth in 2016, a semifinal effort in 2014, and title game performances in 2013 and 2015. A 2016 team captain, Ahooja is three-time scholar-athlete and was named to the 2015-16 San Diego Union-Tribune all-academic team.
On the club circuit, Ahooja plays for the successful San Diego Surf, which she and fellow incoming freshman
Ariana Robles helped lead to a ECNL national championship in 2014. The midfielder has also played on Cal South and Region IV teams since 2013.
Ahooja, who has also earned varsity letters in track and field, joins a San Diego State program that has won an average of 16 games over the last four years and captured seven Mountain West titles during that span (four regular season, three tournament). SDSU has also advanced to three NCAA tournaments in the last four seasons, including 2012’s run to the Sweet 16.
