First Responder Bowl?

There seems to be some talk about San Diego State facing Duke in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl, Dallas (Cotton Bowl) on December 26th.

Apparently, if this happens, we would fill in one of the Big Ten slots. I believe they have ten bowl slots and only nine eligible teams.

CBS's Jerry Palm and 24/7 Sport's Brad Crawford are currently projecting this match up.

However, Sports Illustrated's Eric Single envisions a BYU-North Texas match up in this game, and see us playing Middle Tennessee in the New Mexico Bowl.

And ESPN's Kyle Bonagura and Mitch Sherman have either BYU vs. Middle Tennessee or North Texas vs. Army at the First Responder Bowl. Both of the ESPN writers have the Aztecs playing in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl against either Northern Illinois or Western Michigan.

MBB victory over Illinois State Redbirds

Nice win over a good Missouri Valley team, 75-65.

The Redbirds were 6 & 2 going into this game with victories over BYU, Boise State and Florida Gulf Coast and losses to Belmont and Georgia.

We only went with eight guys for this game, with three almost going the distance. Hemsley and McDaniels each went 39 minutes and Watson played 38 minutes. And, all three of them had good games. Watson led all scorers with 23 points and led in assists with 7. Mitchell with 20 minutes and Schakel with 25 minutes were the other starters. Nathan Mensah had 23 minutes off the bench and collected 10 rebounds. Arop was in for 12 minutes and Seiko added four minutes.

The Aztecs dominated the boards with a 46-32 advantage.

Good team win, on the road.

Jeff Horton

I'm not going to count the reasons why he is the worst OC in college football. I know how great our running game is and has been over the years. But it’s about overall offense. Its pitiful and like a JV high school when behind. Rocky needs to step up & fire his good friend right after the season. Enough is enough.

Hawaii Game

I thought for months that tonight's game would have MWC title implications. We would have only a slight dropoff in rushing the ball, I thought, but with greater experience our offensive line would pass block much better, I thought, and Fresno State wouldn't surprise anybody like they did last year, I thought.

Obviously I overthunk things.

BB Frosh

We are going to have lots of problems if our freshman class does not pick it up soon. They appear timid and afraid to shoot or really get after it. Arop is missing in action thus far and N. Mensah and Seiko give us some game. Chang and J. Mensah are out of their league right now. Losing to Duke is one thing, getting blown out by ISU with the freshman giving us nothing is another. I’m not sure why this is happening, but Dutch needs to get them up to speed sooner than later. We can’t rebound with anyone right now. Rebounding and defense would go a long way toward restoring some order to this team. They need to toughen up! Please!

Duke/Gonzaga game

Although this isn’t directly related to us, it was the tournament we were involved in. Don’t know how many of you saw the title game, but it was one hell of a game! Too heavy weights duking it out, so to speak! Phenomenal play by both sides. Duke seemed unbeatable and Gonzaga went toe to toe with them! One of the best collegiate basketball games I have seen!

Duke game

Well ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, did we really expect anything different than that? It was pretty much like playing in NBA team!

So we try to set out the inside and so what did they do? It was bombs away and Duke didn’t miss much!

Fresno State football game

The possibility of us not losing this game is going up due to an unfortunate situation.
Currently, the smoke from the Camp Fire is so heavy Sacramento State, CSU Stanislaus and U.C. Davis were all closed, today. Sac State and U.C. Davis have already announced the will be closed on Thursday.

UNLV Game

The Rebels come to SD on a 5-game losing streak during which their opponents have gained an average of 528 yards and 49.6 points.

Don't know about you fellas but I'm really tired of fingernail biting victories and given the above and that we now have our starting backfield healthy and rested, I'm anticipating a very welcome beatdown.
