interesting story in the UT. Rocky said they will not bring in a JC or transfer in for spring camp. He is hoping to get a better quality QB who transfers to another school for spring and then promptly leaves that school because he won't be named the starter. so the transfer would not arrive to SDSU until Fall 2019.

do you think this is good strategy?

Any updates on SDSU basketball recruiting

Seems like we've been struggling getting new commits!! I know that we are accepting a lot less commits this year but it seems we've been losing on a lot of kids that we've been after. In my opinion, losing White & Gonzales was really going to hurt us in the recruiting this year. I hope I'm wrong. We shall see!!

I am embarrased. Are we even in the top 25 of the group of 5? It's not that Ohio is that good. It is that we are that bad.

Since I only have a few more days here and respect people's opinion I wanted to raise this issue before I'm out the door.

It was brought up earlier today by a couple folks on AztecMesa whether SDSU might be advised to hold off on building that stadium. Dumb? Not at this point in time it isn't.

1. SDSU doesn't even have enough money to pay market rate for its football coaching staff yet it's going to put out a couple hundred million for a stadium? Rocky Long's salary is seventh highest in the MWC. How ridiculous is that?

2. Colorado State just put itself into long-term hock by building a stadium and hasn't even won a bowl game in five years much less winning a MWC title.

3. CSU Fullerton built itself a stadium in the early 90s but then was forced to shut down its football program only a year or two later over lack of money. It's quite apparent to me that the MWC will be playing football at either a new level of the college game or at the FCS level by 2030 or so. Speaking for myself, I'd rather see SDSU shut down football than have it play FCS ball. FCS is fine for universities located in sparsely populated areas but universities in major schools in a metropolis which field an FCS football team embarrass themselves.

4. The absence of enthusiasm for Aztec football as evident from this and other boards is nothing less than shocking considering a ninth straight bowl season after having only gone to three bowls ever prior to that streak.

The more I think about it, the more I'm becoming persuaded that SDSU should hold off on building that stadium. Because right now, I can see it becoming known as the White Elephant.

In the what could have been category, it sure would have been nice to hang on to the following players below, who left the program or never made it to campus.

Jay Williams walked on as a defense lineman here, left for Grossmont College and now will sign with Florida State as an offensive lineman.

LB Dru Mathis left the program (grades?) to hop on at Moorepark CC and now seems destined to sign with Oregon or UCLA.

DL Dakota Jackson was all set to walk on here out of HS, but was apparently missing a class so he wound up at College of the Canyons. Now looks like he will sign with USC.

After much thought I have canceled my rivals subscription month end. I have enjoyed much Aztec banter on this site and will always cheer for the Red & Black! Since retiring two yrs ago moving to Mexico this was my 1st place to go for Aztec news but alas those days r over. Anyways, if you didn’t know, I run the Aztec FB recruiting twitter page. The staff is absolutely zero help. They don’t give me any info, edits, stats, ANYTHING. All the info I find is what I find combing twitter. Some of you guys have good inside scoops and info I can’t find elsewhere.
