Admittedly, I'm reaching for football conversation....I can't wait guys! I was thinking about this earlier, and thought I'd share....I don't gamble much these days. Usually just a couple times a yr...when a game really jumps out at me, or when I emotionally hedge a game....I did it last yr in the MWC Championship Game and I see a few opportunities on the horizon this Aztec season. Let me explain.
I think this first came to me when the Angels (my American League team) were in the '02 world series. When my team is playing in a big game, sometimes I'll ask myself "how much am I willing to spend to guarantee my team a win?". That fall I thought I'd happily spend 250 to guarantee the Halo's a world series win.....So, I bet 250 on the Giants (the opposition).... And if the Angels won, and I lost the $...WHO CARES....a small price to pay to guarantee my team their first (only) world series.. Heck Ive smiled every time I've thought about that season...a well spent 250 if you ask me...but if my team had lost, the opposition would pay some of my bills that month....the hedge....
Some of my friends ride me that I'm betting on red and black, so to speak, but I don't see it like that. I guess the amount has to be reasonable....not enough to really sting.....Maybe u bet the bar tab or your phone bill... or whatever u decide...but either your team wins and your thrilled, or they lose and the bad guys cushion the blow by picking up the check
I'll tell u for sure this season I'll be putting a few hundy on Cal when they play San Diego State. I never hoped to lose money like this before. If the Aztecs win and I lose a few hundred, I'll be smiling for a month.. But if we lose, at least the bears will be paying for my day at Aztec Warrior Stadium .
It can be a great football season guys. I can't wait!
