FYI, I still think he stays if he gets named the DC with a pay bump.

From FootballScoop

Arizona State: San Diego State corners coach Tony White has been offered the defensive backs job at Arizona State sources tell FootballScoop; however we understand White remains a candidate for promotion at SDSU. A decision is expected in the next few days we are told. White played at UCLA (97-2000) and has coached at SDSU since the 2009 season.

Seiko

There's been a lot of chatter about Adam Seiko's redshirt in here.

He wasn't heavily recruited out of HS. From film, looks like a strong kid in the D'Erryl mold.

Can't see him getting PT this year so why consider burning his redshirt?

Can a few of you who attend practices comment on his game?

The Elephant in the Room

The passing game these are figures Fowl pulled up and posted on Aztecsfight ( I'm sure he won't mind)

Sacks / Attempt
2017 - 11.0% (124th in the country)
2016 - 9.7% (119th in the country)
2015 - 7.3% (93rd in the country)
2014 - 7.9% (105th in the country)
2013 - 7.0% (99th in the country)
2012 - 3.4% (20th in the country)

Chris Chapman took a ridiculous pounding and that affects the QB. WE all know th adage, hit the QB. Without decent a pass blocking or a scheme that give the QB more options we simply are not going forwards but sideways. I don't see us beating fresno,Boise,Stanford or ASU as things stand. AS SGF pointed out in 2012 Ryan Katz was a running QB.

Penny does not make Rivals 1st or second all American team

The spirit of Geno Torreta lives on

Saquon Barkley made it as a utility man

Crazy mike says Farrell’s take: Between being a running back, pass catcher and return man, he’s the most dangerous weapon in the country.

"Farrell’s take: Penny was a mid-level three-star prospect who had to overcome some speed questions and didn’t earn a ton of big offers. He was a good-sized runner and had good feet, but we didn’t see breakaway speed at the next level, and he didn’t turn the corner that well. He’s improved greatly since then and has turned into one of the best running backs in the country by cracking the 2,000-yard mark."

Fresno State

Just finished watching Fresno State’s bowl game with Houston, finally! They played an impressive game. I’m not sure how disgraceful it was to have lost to them. I lost count of how many of Houston’s offensive players were helped off the field because of Fresno’s hard hitting defense. Fresno faced a lot of adversity in this game and still won. Tedford and the bulldogs are going to be something we will have to contend with for quite some time!

Best/Worst moments of the season

Juwan Washington shows a flash of the future and Rashaad Penny with the exclamation point. This play just seems like the perfect highlight to end Penny's college career, too, given how humble and how loved he was as a teammate. Team player.

Worst: It's almost a little difficult to not pick today (I really thought the defense would be fine after seeing how fired up they were on the early fourth-and-one stop) but big picture - SDSU's loss to Fresno State at home really derailed the season. Not scoring a touchdown all game was brutal.

Fuimoano and Lole

This deserves its own thread. Here's my theory, and I could be COMPLETELY wrong. I think, at the last minute, Fuimoano tried to not sign now and hold a spot until February. I think Lole has PAC12 dreams, and Fuimoano was using him as leverage. Is it a coincidence that Hunky Cooper tweets something like this, when he rarely speaks out:

And, a day later, Fuimoano says this:

Both took down ANY sign of Aztecs on their profiles, and Fuimoano put back up his HL tape. I think they'll wind up at an ASU, Colorado or Fresno State type school.
