He said the team understand "it's our own fault" for playing poorly during the early season and how that held the program back from a bigger bowl and power five opponent.

That said, Long believes "every bowl game is the same unless your in the playoff."

Despite this, Long said he's going to spend more bowl practices preparing for the actual bowl and NOT do training camp like practices as he has done the past few years.

Why? Because when the Aztecs were 1-3, "we made a lot of changes on how we did things." Rocky plans to keep it that way.

Some of the changes included added music to practices, shorter practices and more intense practices. The number of reps also decreased and SDSU also gave players more time off during bye week, not doing as much training camp-style practices either.

Rocky also described Cincinnati as an explosive team who had similar issues with turnovers early on during the season.
