The LA Times identified Jeremy Hemsley as the HS basketball Player of the Year yesterday. He led his team to the D3 state championship, averaging 21/7/7. The Times honor was bestowed on Kawhi in 2009. Let's hope Mr. Hemsley serves the Aztec Nation half as well as Mr. Leonard.
It takes a special freshman to step on the court and run an elite basketball team. I believe this kid is special. Our concerns about the point will be a thing of the past once he adapts to the speed of D1 ball. Come March, barring injuries and Malik's defection, taking us down in the Sweet Sixteen will be considered an upset.
