Burton

Potentially tragic news with San Diego State connections as it is currentlt surfacing on Twitter that Granite Hills DE Will Burton was involved in a car crash in Alpine.

Will was at SDSU's camp this summer. His older brother Jake nearly committed to SDSU two years ago until the Pac12 got involved and he is now at UCLA.

His father Brad and uncle Mitch were stars at El Capitan and they played for SDSU in the 80s. This is tragic news. I really hope it's not true as I had great interactions with both Will and Jake. Great, bright kids.

Interesting

Oregon State transfer Joah Robinnett, the TE/OLB from San Marcos expected to walk on this soring to SDSU, announced that Montana has offered him a scholarship. I guess I should have saw that coming.

I never got the sense SDSU would promise Robinett a scholarship but I wonder what Rocky is thinking now.

Big 12??

Saw an article on CFN titled: Big 12 Expansion: UF & USF Is Still Your Answer by Pete Fiutak.
Is there any way to get around the west coast, G5 bias? I know Rocky has mentioned that our
only route to a power conference is through the B-12 but is this really feasible? Given we have
some until the next bball and bowl game, care to speculate on the future direction of aztec
football, assuming a west campus stadium?

Passing the ball into the paint

Throughout the game today, I kept seeing Rooks, Pope, McDaniel, Narain..................open or in very good position under the basket but Watson/Hemsley et call just did not make the pass. Happened at least 15 times. Why the reluctance? SDSU had the size and athleticism advantage today and just did not take advantage. This game was perfect opportunity to work on that part of the game.

I know Butler doubled down on Pope quickly but others were wide open in the paint, all day long and didn't get the ball.

Massive rebounding advantage today just further supports the point.
