The 2016 Golden Coast Water Polo Championship field has been set and will take place at Aztec Aquaplex beginning on Friday. The three-day event will feature three games each day and will culminate with the title game on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. PT.
San Diego State is the top-seeded squad in the seven-team field. Pacific is the No. 2 seed and is followed by No. 3 California Baptist, No. 4 LMU, No. 5 Santa Clara, No. 6 Azusa Pacific and No. 7 Fresno Pacific.
On Friday and Saturday, games will start at noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. On Sunday, the schedule moves up 30 minutes with games set for 11:30 a.m. (5th place), 1 p.m. (3rd place) and 2:30 p.m. (championship).
APU and CBU will open the tournament on Friday at noon and will be followed by FPU-UOP at 1:30 p.m., and SCU-LMU at 3 p.m.
On Saturday, the losers of APU-CBU and FPU-UOP will play at noon on Saturday, while the winners will face at 1:30 p.m. The winner of SCU-LMU will get the Aztecs, the three-time regular-season champions, on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Tickets for Friday and Saturday are $10 for adults and $5 for students with ID and youth. Sunday tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students with ID and youth.
